Oh How She Grows-9 months

Madeline was 9 months old on March 30th and on Tuesday, April 7th we went to her 9 month doctor's appointment. She now weighs 18lbs, 8oz. I forgot to ask them to write down all of her measurements (weight/head/length), which is about right for how I have been as a mom lately (forgetful and scattered) so I don't remember those stats exactly, but I do know the following: She is in the 50th percentile for weight and height, and in the 90th for head! Looks like that brain is really getting BIG, must be all that reading we do! :) She has four, count 'em, FOUR teeth now. Her 2 top teeth came in recently and they are big ol' chompers, so cute. Madeline is the MOST observant little girl, nothing gets past her. When we go to a restaurant she spends the entire time checking out all the goings on, especially the wait staff, they are VERY interesting. She continues to be very social, easy going and smiley. She will let anyone hold her without getting upset at all. We have noticed that there are now times when she can get startled or nervous about things, usually when she has just woken up and a new, busy environment is sprung upon her, but with a bit of quiet talk and explanation she calms down and is fine. Speaking of that growing brain, Madeline now says Momma and Dadda, she also says nana (banana, her FAVORITE). She has also started doing some signs, her first was "all done" and now she is doing "more" as well. It is so cool to see her sign and REALLY communicate with us. Oh and she will also wave goodbye. So needless to say she is quite the cerebral child, now I'll use that as a segway to my next comments- Madeline is not crawling. Yes, I know, "no big deal" , "some kids go straight to walking", "she's still so young", "one day you will just look down and there she'll be crawling from one room to the next". Have I covered them all? Well, yes, I know all of this. I am also aware that a year from now, when she crawled won't even cross my mind or matter BUT today I get all worried about her, like, is she physically strong enough or is she just uncoordinated? I feel I did everything right for her...tummy time? Oh I was a tummy time terror, she was ALWAYS on tummy time, from birth. So there's my crazy Mom-worrying stream of consciousness, just felt good to get it out. Thanks.

Madeline is awesome, that's all I can say...smart, observant, she baits me with toys to get me involved, she meows at her stuffed kitty cat, she talks to her Minnie Mouse doll (I make it talk all the time, so now she does) and there are many other little funny things she does. She's growing up and I am loving every minute of it. Books are her favorite and Daddy is fun, that sums it up. Can't wait to see what the next 3 months brings, I assume it will bring crawling. :)
