Be present and truly enjoy my children-
Sometimes I can get caught up in trying to be the perfect mother and handling everything perfectly that I lose the moment. When I let go of the perfectionism in either how I think I should act or how I think my kids should act, being a mom is a lot more fun!
“Keep Calm and Carry On”-
I find that remaining calm and low key (not yelling)when dealing with an obstinate 2 year old can be one of my biggest challenges as a parent. When I lose it and yell, I come out of it feeling so sad about how I handled it and really, it doesn’t work. But when I do remain calm and low key, it really can work and I certainly walk away from the altercation, no matter how difficult she was, feeling good about what transpired.
Keep my daily prayer and meditation a priority-
Taking these quiet moments daily are a huge help for my sanity and specifically the two things mentioned previously.
Draw without the pressure of success-
When I draw from a place of enjoyment and inspiration rather than the drive to succeed, the entire process is more honest and I tend to be more proud of the final outcome, without second guessing it.
Finish up the little decorating projects around my house-
Decorating is a huge source of enjoyment for me but when these “projects” hang over my head, it can be a source of stress.
Dress as I wish, not as I think I should or what is easiest-

I used to really take risks with my wardrobe, but lately I’ve done what’s easiest. Thinking it through makes me feel good and it’s fun!
